Privacy Policy

The short version

Ochre apps do not collect your data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no telemetry in any Ochre app. Your files, projects, notes, photos, and locations stay on your device, or in storage you choose, such as iCloud or a folder you pick. Ochre never receives them.

Apple may provide us with aggregate App Store figures, such as download counts. That information is anonymous and does not identify you.

Squirrel for Mac

Squirrel runs entirely on your device. It reads the files you point it at, including capture dates and camera metadata (EXIF), to sort them into folders. Your files never leave your computer.

Previews, the Stash, and Activity history are created and kept on your Mac. Presets and preferences are stored locally using Apple's standard UserDefaults system. Ochre cannot access any of it.

If you choose to export a diagnostic log, it is saved to a location you pick. It contains app version and settings, not your file names or file contents. Whether to send it to us is up to you.

Scaffold for Mac

Scaffold keeps your templates, clients, and project history in a single library file. By default it lives on your Mac. You can move it to any folder you choose, including iCloud Drive, Dropbox, or an external drive, and open it from another Mac.

Client details you enter, such as names, contacts, and addresses, are stored only in that library file. Ochre never sees them. If you place the file in a cloud-synced folder, that service's own privacy policy applies to the file. Scaffold has no account and no server.

Scaffold creates folders and copies starter files only where you tell it to. Addresses you save may be shown on a map using Apple's map services. Diagnostic logs are optional and contain only app version, counts, and preference settings, never file names, folder names, or client names.

Prowl for iPhone and iPad

Your location library lives on your device. If you turn on iCloud sync, it syncs through the Apple account already signed in on your device. Ochre cannot see it, and Prowl has no account of its own.

Prowl asks for permissions only for features you use:

• Location: to place a pin at your current position when you ask. Your location is used inside the app and is not sent to Ochre.
• Photos: to reference photos from Apple Photos, if you choose that storage option. You can instead store photos inside Prowl.
• Microphone: to record voice notes. Recordings and their transcriptions stay on your device, and transcription runs on your device.

Map display, place search, and place name autofill use Apple's map services, which handle those requests under Apple's privacy policy.

Presentation Mode keeps private notes out of client-facing output by design. PDFs you export are files on your device. You decide who receives them.

PunchList for Mac

PunchList stores your tracked apps, test runs, notes, and attached screenshots in a single library file on your Mac. You can move it to a cloud-synced folder such as iCloud Drive if you want it on more than one Mac.

Exports (Markdown, JSON, PDF) are saved where you choose. PunchList does not connect to any AI service. The optional AI skill files are ordinary downloads from this website. If you use them with an AI tool, that tool's privacy policy governs what you share with it.

Diagnostic logs are optional and contain aggregate counts, app version, and preference values only. They never include app names, run names, test content, file paths, or screenshots.

ModelKeeper for Mac

ModelKeeper looks at the folders where local AI tools keep their models, plus any folders you add, to list model names, sizes, and dates. That inventory stays on your Mac. ModelKeeper makes no network connections and sends nothing to Ochre.

ModelKeeper may ask for Full Disk Access so it can see everything accurately. It uses that access only to read those folders. Models you delete are moved to the Trash, so you can restore them.

Chipmunk: Field Backup for iPhone and iPad

Chipmunk copies photos and video from a memory card or card reader to a destination you choose, such as an external drive, your device, or iCloud Drive. It only copies. It never moves or deletes anything on your card.

You grant access to the card and the destination through Apple's system file picker, and Chipmunk reads only what you select. A record of what was copied is kept on your device. Chipmunk has no account, no analytics, and sends nothing to Ochre or anyone else.

Contact and support forms

When you contact us or submit a support request, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not sell it, share it, or use it for marketing.

Submissions are stored on our web hosting server (DreamHost, United States) and retained for up to 24 months, after which they are deleted. You can request earlier deletion at any time by emailing hello@getochre.app.

If you attach a diagnostic log to a support request, we use it only to diagnose that issue.

Email notifications

If you signed up for launch notifications, we store your email address to let you know when new Ochre apps become available. That is all it is used for. To be removed, email hello@getochre.app and we will delete your address promptly.

Analytics and tracking

We do not use Google Analytics, advertising trackers, or any third-party data collection on this website. No cookies are set except those required for form functionality.

Hosting and Infrastructure

getochre.app is hosted on DreamHost shared hosting (Los Angeles, California, United States). Contact form submissions and support requests are stored as encrypted flat files on this server. We do not use third-party CRM, marketing, or analytics platforms.

Services You Choose to Use

Some Ochre apps work with services you control, such as iCloud, Dropbox, or an external drive. When you store Ochre app data there, that provider's terms and privacy policy apply. Ochre does not have access to your account or your files on those services.

Children's Privacy

Ochre's products are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, contact us at hello@getochre.app and we will delete it immediately.

California Residents: CCPA Rights

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we have collected about you
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell it)
• Non-discrimination for exercising these rights

Because Ochre apps do not collect personal information, these rights apply to what we hold from this website, such as contact form submissions and launch email signups. To make a request, email hello@getochre.app. We will respond within 45 days.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. We will not retroactively change how we handle data already collected without notice.
