PunchList is Live!!

I lost hours of finished work to a closed browser tab. So I built a free Mac app that makes sure it never happens again.

PunchList is live on the Mac App Store. It's a native QA tracker, and it's free, which is a first for Ochre.

The short version: I built a rough web-based QA tool to test the rest of the Ochre lineup while building it. It lived entirely in browser local storage. One day the tab closed and a completed QA pass — hours of it — just vanished.

I thought about open-sourcing that PHP tool instead of rebuilding it properly. Then I realized open source with a login wall and a server requirement isn't a gift, it's homework. So I built a native Mac app instead. No server, no login. Something like 70% of developers using AI coding tools are already on a Mac, so a free native app is the actual gift.

PunchList tracks Pass/Fail/Skip/Pending on every test in a plan, with screenshots on failures and a Retest feature that pulls only your failed items into a fresh pass — no re-clicking through everything that already worked.

I QAed PunchList with PunchList before shipping it. It found real bugs. Eating your own dogfood works exactly as well, and is exactly as humbling, as everyone says.
